Mountain Hoops was created by Scott Sellers in the Fall of 2016. His goal is to help high school age athletes increase their chances of playing college basketball. Being a former college student-athlete Scott understands how difficult the recruiting process can be for players and parents. He was raised in Utah and always dreamed of playing college basketball, but he found it was very hard to get noticed by college coaches. After high school, Scott walked-on at Central Wyoming College and after playing there for two years continued his playing career at Bellevue University in Nebraska. Scott is currently a high school basketball coach for Hillcrest High School in Midvale, Utah. His goal is to help high school age student athletes maximize their chances of playing college basketball through exposure from tournaments and camps. All of the tournaments run by Mountain Hoops will be open to college coaches from multiple levels of college basketball. The camps run by Mountain Hoops are uniquely ran because all of the camp instructors will be college coaches. This will give athletes the opportunity to receive college coaching, getting to know college coaches on a more personal level. Scott believes Mountain Hoops will benefit many kids and help them achieve their dreams of playing college basketball.
