10/21/2018

The Salt Lake Community College/Mountain Hoops Showcase took place this past Saturday. We had 10 college coaches show up to evaluate the talent! We will be highlighting some seniors and post grad participants that stood out.

Matt Norman 6'4 G 2019 (Timpanogos HS) Knocked down six threes in the first game and showed why he is one of the best guards in the state of Utah. At his size he is able to rise above opposing defenders to get his shot off. Norman is a good defender who plays the right way on both sides of the floor. It is baffling that he isn't getting recruited by more schools.

Projection: Low D1/High D2/High Juco

Majok Kuath 6'7 F 2019 Kearns (Kearns HS)
Is the younger brother of current Oklahoma Sooner Kur Kuath. He is an extremely skilled forward that can shoot and attack off the bounce. With his long wing span he can finish over taller defenders. His brother grew late and the same could be true for Majok

Projection: Non-Qualifier. High level Juco

Trevon Allfrey 6'7 F 2019 (Copper Hills HS)
Showed his complete skill set at the showcase. He can grab the rebound, push the break and find teammates or finish above the rim. Allfrey also knocked down several three pointers. He has muliple D2 offers and is hearing from D1s and high level junior colleges.

Projection: Low to mid D1/High D2/High Juco

Eli Reynolds 6'3 G 2019 (Cottonwood HS) Put on a dunking clinic throughout the night. He is a great athlete but he can do much more. Reynolds can shoot the three well and he can guard multiple positions. He is a bit of a late bloomer and isn't getting recruited by many schools right now.

Projections: Solid NJCAA D1/NCAA D2

Isaac Kime 6'0 G 2019 (Bountiful)
is a tough nose guard that can defend at a high level. Kime is also solid at getting to the rim and finishing. He has a solid shot but I'd like to see him be more consistent from the three. Overall solid guard that can play at the next level.
Projection: NWAC/NJCAA D2/NAIA

Malachi Mills 6'3 G 2018 (lone Peak) after being hurt the past year, he looked great at the showcase. Mills is a good athlete that finishes above the rim and is good in transition. He has a decent shot but his best skill is finishing. He has a good frame and will only improve at the college level.

*Is looking to go somewhere at semester if it's the right fit
Projection: NJCAA D1

Amoro Lado 6'2 G 2019 (Vallivue ID) is one of the best guards out of Idaho in the class of 2019. He shot it well at the showcase and finished at the rim against length. I like his bulldog mentality on defense. I was surprised to hear his recruitment is somewhat low at this point.

Projection: NJCAA D1

Mckay Shippen 6'2 G 2018 (Bonneville ID)
is from a smaller town and didn't get recruited so is going to school this year. He has a high basketball IQ and made some excellent passes/plays. Shippen can shoot it from deep. He can play at the next level and will look to do so.

Projection: NWAC/NJCAA D2/NAIA

Emmanuel Andrew 6'5 G 2019 (Kearns) is a freakish athlete which is why he has offers from D1's across the country. He is excellent in transition and is able to defend on a high level. Andrew should have a breakout senior season after being hurt most of his junior year.

Projection: Mid to high major D1

Alerk Greenhalgh 6'0 G 2019 (Timpview) is able to score the ball from the three, mid-range and is crafty enough to score in the paint. Greenhalgh has a nice pull-up game and gets good elevation on his shot.

Projection: NWAC/NJCAA D2/NAIA

Lawson Roe 6'2 G 2019 (Juan Diego) is one of the best shooters in the state and he showed that he can do more. He is a solid on ball defender and understands where to be on help side. I love his overall basketball IQ and he can be a contributor at the next level.

Projection: NWAC/NJCAA D2/NAIA
