Top Player (SL County) "Part 2"

10/6/2017

We are back for another list of some of the top players in Salt Lake County. This is "part 2" of the 3 that will be covering for Salt Lake County before move onto a loaded Utah County.

2020 Dyson Koehler 6'6 F/W (Jordan) is coming off an impressive freshman season and club season with Utah Hard Knox. Koehler has a D1 body already as a sophomore which is going to bring a lot of college attention along with playing for Utah Exum Elite next year. He is very good at finishing around the rim and can play through contact. Koehler has really improved his handle which makes his especially dangerous in the open court.

2018 David Andrew 6'6 G (Kearns) is a prototypical shooting guard as he is able to shoot over most defenders and he has NBA type range. He has improved his handle which makes it easier for him to get in the paint and mid-range. Andrew needs to put on some weight to excel at the next level and I'm sure he will as I have heard great things about his work ethic

2018 Jay Gilson 6'5 W/F (Summit Academy) is having a great year at wide receiver which he has picked up some college interest in that sport already. On the hardwood, Gilson is a very athletic forward/wing that is great as scoring inside of 15 feet. His shot is coming along and with seam work he will be a very effective player inside and out at the college level.

2018 Jason Ricketts 6'5 W/F (Juan Diego) is now adjusting to playing more at the wing and he has shown some great things. Ricketts is great at attacking the rim and has the strength to score through contact. In the open floor he is at his best as he can score or create an. easy look for his teammates. He needs to prove he can guard athletic guards and if he can, I see him as a for sure D1 player.

2020 Brox Ashby 6'1 G (Hillcrest) after playing sparingly during most of his freshman season, he was able to shine during three play-off games. Ashby averaged 10 points per game in those three play-off games and showed he is not afraid of the moment. He is an under the radar player as he doesn't play club ball and I expect a huge sophomore season out of him. Ashby is a very quick guard that has great range and has the ability to blow by defenders in the open court.

2018 Josh Christensen 6'5 W (Corner Canyon) had a very solid year in leading Jordan High School the a 2nd round appearance at state. He has transferred to a stacked Corner Canyon team that should be in the running for a 5A crown. Christensen is very athletic and is best when he has room to attack the rim. He is decent shooter and with some work he can be a very good player at the next level. Christensen has a lot of high level Juco interest at this point.
